Phyllis McCraw is a West Milford, NJ
artist who learned her woodturning skills
from a North Georgia artist, Marge Felder.
McCraw loves to turn bowls, but also turns other wooden items pictured above.
As a child she loved to experiment with gadgets and her father, a
woodshop teacher, encouraged her to try to use various tools. She has
always loved trees and feels that making bowls from wood is a way to
preserve part of the tree's spirit. To Phyllis the look and feel
of wood is always mysteriously beautiful.
Phyllis McCraw also paints in oil,
watercolor, and acrylic. Watercolor of barn gallery on the index
page is by Phyllis.
