Christine Hartman Sherry was inspired
by her mother, an accomplished painter and folk artist to begin her life long
relationship with art. Her fascination with the natural world has provided a
wealth of inspiration and material for her artwork.
After using photography as a tool in her painting, Christine began to show
her photographs in the mid-1980's. Her prize-winning work is in private
collections, and she has a permanent photography exhibit in the Town Hall of
Berlin, VT. Feeling the need to create an image involving the media coverage
prevalent after September 11th, Christine produced the piece "Not
in My Lifetime". This work started her on the path of exploring mixed media,
collage and found object art. She enjoys the adventure of using common, often
overlooked objects to create a one of a kind work of art.
A native of Vermont’s Green Mountains, Christine finds Ringwood’s rolling
hills to be a wellspring of creativity. She is currently a trustee of the
RMAA.
